In 1960, the US invested more in research and development than the entire world combined. But those days are long-gone. While capitalists have innovated more in the high tech domain, both the state and the capitalists have invested next to nothing in the social infrastructure such as transportation, sanitation and healthcare. If roads, bridges and train are likened to the arteries of a political body, the Yankee empire is suffering from internal bleeding. Capitalists, drunk on the deck of the Titanic, pay no attention.
