This article draws a nice parallel between the way China and Russia have escaped Yankee clutches internationally and what the current uprising in Yankeedom needs to do to insure a lasting significance domestically. The author points out the futility of making demands, of asking the rulers to be more fair without providing any reason for them doing so. Just as China and Russia have built factories, harnessed energy and built roads around the world, so too, the uprising in Yankeedom must move beyond asking for reform, to building alternatives.
