Not all union members are passive and apathetic. This article describes the process by which an labor organizer breaks with the tradition of expecting workers to come to a union hall. Instead he meets them where they are. We can’t have a revolution without unions and unions can’t become revolutionary until the rank-and-rank can challenge the leadership with its own form of organization. Labor Notes is dedicated to reporting on and sustaining this rank-and-file movement.
