Periodically, mass surveys or fleeting events demonstrate the true state of the American public – beyond what politicians or their echo chambers in the news have to say. The fact that mini-panics took place in 15 different malls in the Unites States the day after Christmas, in cities sometimes hundreds of miles from each other, says a great deal about Americans. This is a demonstration of the nervousness about what Trump will bring, increasing racial tensions and class frustration that has, as yet, no political outlet.
