As we’ve said in previous posts, worker cooperatives are not just for middle class hippies in industrial capitalist societies. There have been worker coops started among poor people in the US as well as in other countries. In addition, as this article shows, people can build self-managing political forms even in war zones, as in the Kurdish area of North Syria. These ideas are inspired by Abdullah Ă–calon, leader of the Kurdish Workers Party.
