With the recent kidnapping of Nicolas Maduro it seems like a golden opportunity for BRICS to step up to the plate. But skeptics say this won’t happen because BRICS is an economic not a political organization. Many Marxists say BRICS can be no alternative to the West because the countries in BRICS are too diverse politically to unite. Is it naive to hope that BRICS can overcome these real criticisms?
