Capitalist Student Debt Slavery: Facing a Lifetime of Debt

As of 2016 the average student debt in the United States was $37,000. One third of these borrowers have not made any headway in reducing their debt – after 5 years they’ve simply been paying the interest. As it stands now student debt is $1.37 Trillion, second only to mortgage debt. It does not have to be this way. Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Turkey all have free university education. Even here in the US, education used to cost a fraction of what it costs now.
