This article is inspiring on many fronts. First, because of the length of time of this occupation, but also because of the outreach and planning involved. Unlike workers in the United States, these workers understood that to survive they had to create alliances with the unemployed and with students. In addition, they reorganized the workplace to include sales and press outreach. Lastly, although a ceramics factory, they have developed plans for public works to expand into areas far beyond what they themselves have produced.
