Many small businesses are not likely to come back because of the pandemic and its decimation of the real capitalist economy (as opposed to stock market, finance capitalism). In this hour-long radio interview, a sociologist discusses the success in Argentina of worker cooperatives in the 1990’s and in early 2000 takeovers of 400 companies involving 16,000 workers. How this worker co-op model might help is by building disaster socialism as a response to the crisis and perhaps taking over failed small businesses.
