One of the many problems of cultural relativism is that it treats nation-states as separate but equal societies. This ignores the fact that societies constantly interact with and influence each other. Further, it treats any new discoveries as products of individual nation-states rather than the confluence of influences. This article sites the New Silk Road as an example.
