Quoting The World Socialist Website, “The AFL-CIO and Change to Win labor federations have done everything to isolate and defeat the embattled Verizon workers.” These unions are linked to the Democratic Party and will do its bidding. Communication Workers of America (CWA) has endorsed Bernie Sanders and is using the strike to help him in the primaries. We think this is a smart strategy, but it seems to be a means to an end. The World Socialist Website predicts that after the primaries, the heads of the unions will try to force an end to the strike.
