We feel that is it very risky to take any politician’s specific program seriously before political action is taken. The economic world, regardless of the machinations of politicians, is global.
There are international divisions of labor, international trading agreements and strategic alliances between clusters of countries. Trump’s bluster has thrown the majority of the world – Europe, Latin America and Asia – into uncertainty at a time when the world economy is already unstable. Eight years of the Obama reign has been unable to stop the rise of China and Russia as independent of US domination. Trump’s out of touch nationalism will only further send the US into world economic decline.
