The Place of Tech Co-ops in the Worker Cooperative Movement

Typically people think of worker co-ops as existing in the service industries such as restaurants and bakeries. But co-ops have always had to face the problem of how to move from local to regional coordination.

This is where technical co-ops can provide the infrastructure for communication and coordination efforts. This includes building  platforms, websites and software. These  tech co-ops are unusually sensitive to how to extend the reach of worker co-ops across geographical and political boundaries without being controlled by intermediaries.
