Succeeding Rent Strike in Canada Enters Second Month With Growing Numbers of Tenants Joining In

This rent strike in East Hamilton Ontario, Canada started in early May of this year. Thanks to the collective creativity and tenacity of the striking tenants, their numbers have doubled. Between May and June, the original striking tenants held meetings in lobbies, made phone calls, talked about the strike with other tenants in elevators, playgrounds and grocery stores. The landlords are scrambling.
