For seventeen days so far, people in Chicago angry at police murders of blacks have occupied what has been called “Freedom Square”. The descriptions of life in the occupied space sound very much like Occupy SF and Occupy Oakland. What is most inspiring, and I wish there was more detail on this, is how they resolved conflicts without calling the police. This is a small indicator of the fact that with the right training communities can protect themselves without calling the police.
