This is a terrific article to share with anyone who thinks the ecological crisis is going to be saved by a) individuals being less greedy, or b) some form of a “Green” New Deal. It shows that capitalism as a system is incapable of self-regulation or reform. Capitalists are incompetent myopics who are incapable of looking out for the long-term, even when it’s in their own self-interest.
