In France 400,000 people went out on a weekday to protest, 60,000 in the streets of Paris alone. They were protesting Macron’s threats to labor protections. This is Macron’s first year of carrying on the same policies of capitalist cannibalization as Hollande did, who left office with extremely low approval ratings. Can a repeat of the French general strike in May 1968, which nearly toppled the French government, be far behind? Economic conditions are far worse now.
