Geo-Economics: Capitalism’s Greatest Hits and Greatest Flops

This article compares Saudi Arabia, the United States and China using the metaphor of ‘shakedowns and shake-ups’.

Shake-ups refer to the Chinese case of investing in infrastructure which moves the economy up and expands. “Shake-downs ” are capitalist economies like the US and Saudi Arabia whose profits cannibalize and destroy their own foundations.
