For any of you who have read Naomi Klein’s Shock Doctrine, Volcker was one of “fathers” of the “shock doctrine”. While this article focuses on how his market fundamentalist policies devastated the working class in Yankeedom and Britain, it’s also important to remember that his policies also instigated austerity programs all over the world.
