This is a very good micro/macro analysis of why the US, France and England attacked Syria.
At a micro level all three countries have deep economic problems, their populations are anti-war, and they are personally unpopular. At a macro level, the US neocons are upset that Trump did not go far enough. The underlying reason: Russia is building alliances with countries based on building infrastructures and harnessing energy. Along with China, Russia and Iran are pulling away. The European Union is being held together by a thread.
