Here is an overview of the Chinese labor strikes along with the upcoming layoffs of almost 2 million people. Notice that CNN presents these strikes as if they had no relationship to global economy. It treats the political economy of one country as if it were separate from the rest or the world. Notice also, the comment about “state media”, a code word for propaganda. As if “private media” meant no propaganda. Lastly, CNN has no problem heading a section “fear of revolution” when it applies to other countries but it wouldn’t dare use the phrase to describe things in the United States. Despite these reservations, this is worth reading.
