What is interesting is that although the elites claim to have the majority of Venezuelans behind them, they don’t plan on voting, but instead are advocating boycotting the vote and going into the streets. On the other hand, one historian interviewed said it is not a revolutionary constituent assembly in terms of content. But no matter what its content, the process of direct democracy is revolutionary.
