The stereotypes of worker coops are that, despite whatever kind of direct democracy is in place, they are not sustainable on a large scale. But the Venezuelan Cecosesola cooperative is a network of 60 cooperatives with twenty thousand members. They provide everything from food services to health care to funeral services. This interview with four members is very inspiring. Sadly these coops have not been supported by the socialist government of Maduro. We would think that worker self-organization would be supported by a socialist government.
