When bitcoin was first invented about 10 years ago, some anarchists hailed it as a super-cession of capitalist money mediated exchanges. It may have value in a post capitalist society, but how much can bitcoin stand outside of capitalist society today? The answer, according to Michael Roberts, is that bitcoin cannot stand outside of capitalism and may have a short shelf-life.
