Our understanding is that Africa has the greatest diversity of natural resources in the world. Yet Africa is the poorest continent economically in the world. Why is this? It’s a common belief in the West, at least among the old modernization theorists, that the continent was mired in superstition, ignorance, ethnic hysteria and authoritarian leadership. But this video explains how Western colonialization kept the African Continent from developing. The good news is that this is changing because of the Chinese Belt Road Initiative.
