The declining US Empire, with former allies starting to hedge their bets on the rising Chinese power, is attempting its usual divide to conquer strategy. In this case it’s attempting to court Vietnam against China. While we don’t agree with the entire analysis, we think the author is dead-on that the real purpose has everything to do with the South China Sea and the Chinese oil supply.
